Do you remember my series Selbstportrait from 2018? In case you don't, here is a nice article about it on iGnant.com from the same year. Well, as you can't know, the series was actually planned to be an ongoing series and I always dreamed about continuing it all over the world. So when I had the chance to repeat the series in Darmstadt at AfkV last year, I was really happy. However, I wasn't really content with the result. Something felt off and I couldn't really tell why.
I loved the part where I would wear your clothes, but I hated my long hair (on the final images) and the fact that my trousers ripped during the shooting felt like a sign to stop.
Being in Cairo, the dream of continuing this series worldwide struck me again and a few weeks ago, I decided to make another attempt, but to slightly change the concept.
First, the new series will be called 'portraits' and not 'Selbstportrait', as I'm no longer trying to portray myself.
Second, I will only wear the participant's clothing and I will not ask them to war mine, as I find this more interesting.
Third, this really is intended as an ongoing series and I after Cairo, I want to continue it all over the world.
However, this time I want to do things right, so I would like to photograph using two professional travel flashes, which unfortunately I can't afford on my own.
That's why I have started a crowdfunding campaign and I would like to ask you for your support – either financially or simply by sharing the campaign with your friends and family.
The campaign video is in German, but I have translated all text in English.
A big thank you to everyone who already added to the funding goal of 2500 € and those 66 patrons who continue to support me with 1 € per month ❤️
